Before the first move
Every legal move traps at least one opposing disc. The board shows where you can play and flips the captured lines automatically.
Bracket an opponent's discs
Place a disc so one or more opposing discs sit in a straight line between the new disc and another disc of your colour.
Every bracketed line flips
Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines can all flip in the same move. A single placement can change a large part of the board.
Most discs at the end wins
If you have no legal move, your turn passes. When neither player can move, the player controlling more discs wins.

Can I play Reversi with one friend?

Can I practise Reversi against AI?

What happens if I have no legal move?
Your turn passes. The game ends when neither player has a legal move remaining.
Is Reversi the same as Othello?
The names are commonly used for the same disc-flipping game. This version uses the familiar 8×8 Reversi rules.
